A Bit of Scotland in Sandy
In this Kitchen, we took inspiration from the client’s work as a photographer specializing in weddings in Scotland. There’s a classical foundation to the details. The home also started out as a generically traditional rambler without any distinguishing features or details. With the Kitchen, we wanted to let this palette inform the rest of the home, both in color and feeling.
We started with the layout, opening things up from the originally closed off room it was. We created a working pantry to house the bulk of the countertop appliances and other kitchen goods. Shifting the location of the sink to the front window allowed for more unobstructed countertop space, especially with the large island. The rest of the layout was intuitive, making the work triangle quite efficient
